Teacher Education at University of Arizona
The University of Arizona College of Education enrolls approximately 1,800 undergraduate students and 900 graduate students within six academic departments, with 65 full-time faculty members and 30 adjunct faculty members. The college offers: Bachelor’s degrees in elementary, secondary, and special education; teacher certification; and Master’s and doctoral degrees in education. Students at the College of Education pursue careers as classroom teachers, school counselors, school principals and superintendents. The College of Education is well-known for its UCATS program, which enables education students to spend an entire year in a local public school before they graduate. The UCATS program serves as a model for teacher preparation for the entire country.
