The University of Alaska Anchorage offers more than 150 degree programs through the colleges of Education, Health and Social Welfare, Arts and Sciences, Business and Public Policy, Community and Technical College, Engineering, and Social Work. In addition to the school’s main campus in Anchorage, the school operates four community campuses - Matanuska-Susitna College, Kenai Peninsula College, Kodiak College, and Prince William Sound Community College. Students may pursue a variety of educational opportunities, include associate’s, baccalaureate and master’s degrees and vocational and professional certificates. The school also offers a strong Study Abroad program, as well as a National Student Exchange that offers semester and yearlong placements through partnerships with about 200 universities.
Teacher Education at University of Alaska Anchorage
The College of Education at University of Alaska Anchorage offers degrees through three departments – Teaching and Learning, Counseling and Special Education, and Educational Leadership. An associate degree is available in Early Childhood Education, in addition to bachelor’s degrees in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, seven master’s programs, three graduate certificates, two occupational endorsement certificates, two post-baccalaureate certificates, and two post-graduate certificates. College distinctions include the Alaska Educational Innovations Network, a partnership with nine Alaskan school districts that serves more than half of the state’s K-12 student population; and the Anchorage School District Summer Academy.
