Troy University is a comprehensive state university that serves nearly 30,000 undergraduate and graduate students on four campuses in Alabama, as well as in 17 states and 11 nations. In addition, Troy has 30 campuses on military bases in the United States and overseas, and also offers online learning opportunities to adult learners. The Troy campus offers the traditional college experience, including student organizations, Division 1 athletics, fine arts, music and theatre. Troy offers a large variety of undergraduate majors through the following colleges: General Studies; College of Arts and Sciences; College of Communications and Fine Arts; College of Education; College of Health and Human Services; and Sorrell College of Business.
Teacher Education at Troy University
Troy University’s College of Education prepares undergraduate and graduate students as teachers, counselors, administrators, and other education professionals. The Teacher Education Unit comprises all undergraduate and graduate certification programs, which are approved by the Alabama State Board of Education. Certification programs are offered at the Dothan, Montgomery, Phenix City, and Troy campuses. Undergraduate programs include the following: Early Childhood Education (P-3); Elementary Education (K-6); Collaborative Teacher (K-6); Collaborative Teacher (6-12); Secondary Education (6-12); and Interdisciplinary Education (P-12). At the graduate level, Troy University offers a number of Master’s programs and Education Specialist programs.
