Teacher Education at Maricopa Community Colleges
Several of the 10 participating community colleges offer programs for teacher preparation. One of the most popular programs is the Early Childhood Education Program. Students who enroll in this program work toward an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree for Early Childhood Education. The program prepares students to work within the field of early childhood education serving children from birth through age 8. Courses are based on current and established theory and practice. Classes are offered in a variety of formats, and are scheduled on a flexible basis to accommodate individuals already working in the Early Childhood Education field.
