California State University San Marcos is one of the most rapidly growing campuses in the CSU system. Located on a 300-acre campus on a San Marcos hillside, CSU San Marcos is 30 minutes north of San Diego and has a total enrollment of approximately 9,100 students. Ninety-seven percent of students are from California. CSU San Marcos is comprised of four separate colleges or schools: The College of Arts & Sciences; The College of Business Administration; The College of Education; and The School of Nursing. The most popular undergraduate majors are Business Administration, Liberal Studies, Communications, Psychology, Pre-nursing, Sociology, Service Sector Management, Human Development, Biology, and Literature & Writing Studies. CSU San Marcos awards nearly 1,800 bachelor, master and advanced degrees each year.
Teacher Education at California State University - San Marcos
The College of Education at CSAU San Marcos offers a variety of credential and certificate programs, several Master degree options, and a Doctoral degree program. The Integrated Credential Program provides students with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Liberal Studies from the College of Arts and Sciences and a Multiple Subject Credential from the College of Education. Credential programs are also available in Middle Level, Multiple Subject, Single Subject and Special Education. Master of Arts & Advanced Credentials are offered in a number of specialties, and a Joint Ed.D. Program in Educational Leadership – offered in conjunction with USC San Diego – is now available. In addition, the school offers five certificate programs.
