California State University, Fullerton is part of the California State University system and offers 55 undergraduate and 50 graduate degree programs through the colleges of Arts, Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, Business and Economics, Engineering and Computer Science, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Communications, and Health and Human Development. The school began offering classes in 1959, under the name Orange County State College, and currently enrolls more than 37,000 students. The main 236-acre campus is about 30 miles southeast of Los Angeles, with a branch campus in Irvine. The school has several community partnerships through the Art Alliance, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, and other services.
Teacher Education at California State University - Fullerton
The College of Education at California State University, Fullterton offers the Multiple Subject (K-8), Single Subject (9-12), and Education Specialist credentials for students pursuing a degree in education. Field experience and internships help students build their experience and knowledge in the classroom. Divided into five departments - Educational Leadership, Elementary & Bilingual Education, Reading Education, Secondary Education, and Special Education - the university also offers master’s degrees in several subject areas and concentrations, along with a doctorate program. Special service centers include the Community Learning and Literacy Center, the Center for Careers in Teaching, and the Center for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Education.
