Bethesda Christian University, located in Anaheim, CA, was founded in 1976 and based on a framework of Pentecostal theology. Academic programs are designed to give students a firm foundation in biblical studies and support a Christian worldview. Undergraduate studies lead to a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion, Music, Early Childhood Education, Design, or Business Administration. Master’s degrees are also available in Biblical Studies, Divinity, and Music, as well as a Doctor of Ministry program. Bethesda offers a number of online programs, in addition to ESL and preschool teacher/director certification.
Teacher Education at Bethesda Christian University
Bethesda Christian University offers a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education, which offers a basis in Christian education perspectives and biblical knowledge and their application in curriculum. Graduates are prepared to work in preschool, child care center, family child care, afterschool, and children’s ministry settings. The goals of the program are to equip preservice teachers to assess the cognitive, physical, affective, social, moral, and spiritual development of children; develop a curriculum suitable for children in early childhood education programs; manage staff; design operating policies for an early childhood education program; and effectively organize and manage child care programs.
