The 2010 "Back to School" Teaching Scholarship Program
It’s easy to talk about the shortage of highly qualified teachers, and the other challenges facing the US educational system - like the need for higher-level education among current teachers. Well, we decided we’d actually do something about it too.
We’re proud to announce the brand-new EducationDegree.com "Back to School" Teaching Scholarship program.
The program is administered by Scholarship America (www.scholarshipamerica.org), the nation’s premier administrator of private scholarship programs.
In the first application cycle, we’re giving away two scholarships of $2,500 each. One will go to a teacher with provisional/initial certification who’s going back to school for a Masters in Education or Post-Baccalaureate Teaching Certificate program. The other will go to a non-teacher who’s going back to school to become a teacher (in an Alternative Teacher Certification program).
We look forward to expanding the number of scholarships as time goes on. Please help us get the word out and make this program a success by linking to this page (on your blog, or your Facebook profile, or any other relevant website you’re responsible for). We appreciate it!
The application form (as well as more detailed program guidelines) can be found here: https://www.scholarshipamerica.org/back-to-school/.
The deadline for applications is April 15th, 2010. Good luck!
