It’s easy to talk about the shortage of highly qualified teachers, and the other challenges facing the US educational system - like the need for higher-level education among current teachers. Well, we decided we’d actually do something about it too.
We’re proud to announce the 2012 round of the EducationDegree.com "Back to School" Teaching Scholarship program, currently accepting applications.
The program is administered by Scholarship America (www.scholarshipamerica.org), the nation’s premier administrator of private scholarship programs.
In this application cycle, we’re giving away two scholarships of $2,500 each. One will go to a teacher with provisional/initial certification who’s going back to school for a Masters in Education or Post-Baccalaureate Teaching Certificate program. The other will go to a non-teacher who’s going back to school to become a teacher (in an Alternative Teacher Certification program).
We look forward to expanding the number of scholarships as time goes on. Please help us get the word out and make this program a success by linking to this page (on your blog, or your Facebook profile, or any other relevant website you’re responsible for). We appreciate it!
Unfortunately the application deadline of April 15, 2012 has now passed. Please bookmark this page and check back in late February 2013 for information on our next round of scholarships.
