Arkansas public schools have many teacher shortage areas to fill. According to the U.S. Department of Education, Arkansas schools need teachers, in particular, who can instruct gifted students and special education students. Finally, the University of Central Arkansas offers a unique advanced graduate certificate designed to prepare educators to become instructional facilitators or coaches. The program was developed specifically to meet Arkansas standards for this position, and students who enter the program can apply its credits toward a graduate degree.
