Education Leadership at Purdue-Calumet
There is no doubt about it, today the action is in the principal's office. That's where the big decisions are made that affect an entire school. That's where the curriculum decisions are made, that's where the communication with parents originates, that's where children's lives are greatly influenced, and that's where plans for school success begin.
It's a difficult job, but an extremely rewarding one. That's where one person can make a huge impact. The path to that office begins here at Purdue Calumet in our educational administration program.
Purdue Calumet has been nationally recognized by U.S. News and World Report. The university is part of the internationally respected Purdue University system. In 2008, Purdue Calumet became one of the nation's first universities to require experiential learning curricular components for all undergraduate degree-seeking students. We help students integrate their education with a personal plan for success.
The school of education is the largest in the region for producing teachers, principals and school counselors. It is the Home of the Center for Educational Leadership (CEL).
With an enrollment of more than 10,100 students ranging in age from 16 to 89, Purdue Calumet helps students integrate their education with a personal plan for success.
Accreditation
National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). NCATE is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and numerous national organizations as the accrediting body for universities that prepare teachers and other professional personnel for work in P-12 schools. NCATE ensures that accredited institutions hold high standards and produce competent, caring, and highly qualified educators and administrators who have proven they can support the learning of all students.
