Concordia University offers students more than 50 undergraduate and several pre-professional programs on its Seward, NE campus. Graduate degree programs include family life ministry, gerontology and aging studies, and the Master of Business Administration. Founded in 1894 by the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, the school has more than 1300 enrolled students. Its 18 intercollegiate athletic teams compete in the Great Plans Athletic Conference, and Concordia’s music program includes 15 ensembles in which students can take part, along with thriving theater and arts departments. Students working toward their teaching degree have a number of options at Concordia University, including several majors in early childhood education, elementary education, middle level education, and secondary education. Master’s programs are available in curriculum and instruction, educational administration, early childhood education, parish education, reading specialist and ESL/ELL. Other graduate-level programs include the graduate secondary education teacher certification program, a specialist diploma for Director of Christian Education, teaching ministry colloquy, and the "Beyond Baccalaureate" Teaching Endorsements.
